Hello again, it's been a while...
Now hello there once more, it's been a while, blog hibernation struck me, big time!
Life's been moving in all kinds of directions and I didn't feel compelled to write about it... However, I do now feel that I have an arsenal of photo related short stories to share again. In truth we've been very busy and it's nice to document clients, work, trips, BTS, funny embarrassing stories and of course end results with you - all 10 of you!
So please pull up a chair to our farm house cyber table and I'll fill you a glass of blabber and pictures my friend.

Work and Play by the Caribean Sea Day 1 and 2
Travelling at the arse crack of dawn, cold. taxi to victoria, express to gatwick, flight to montego bay, clapped out loaf of bread van* driven by Psycho Jamaican to Jakes Place for redstripes and rums, roadside jerk chicken and potholes, nothing else would have stopped our wired 20 stone driver, including near head on collisions.
Slept well and awoke to the sea 25ft in front, chilled, a little rough round the edges but that sometimes adds to the appeal right?
I cooked for a bit, Neil went off and then Hollywood and I went and took some pictures of palm trees by the beach etc.
Dinner, Call time, Rum and bed - I was being used as bait for the Mosquitos, little fuckers!
*van the resembles a loaf of bread, sooty wagon etc.

The Shoe is firmly on the other foot
Just over three years as Crew on the Clovelly Lifeboat, close one's have always been a little concerned when the pager goes off and I run for the boat, In a selfish way I quickly passed a thought of what they may think.. until now that is.
Spending the last 24 hours working myself up into a fear of uncertainty due to Lisa being slap bang in the centre of Brisbane, by the river no less makes me see things in a different way.
So here's to the waiting and hoping game, may have a beer to take the edge later!

Work and play in the USA Part11.
We started the last 120 miles to Miami, a little bit wrecked, we got lost, after 4000 miles I decided to get confused with my East and West.. oops! About 8pm we roll on into the entrance of the Raleigh Hotel on Collins in South beach. Kind of emotional and kind of not ready for this journey to end, probably why it's taken me so long to wind this blog story up I guess.
We went to the bar and drank caipirinhas, lots of em, we went out, we ended up in a bar with some paraplegic lesbians, I think it rocked although we have no knowledge of getting back to the hotel (not for the last time).
The next 7days were going to be work related for the next shoot, but it involved the usual, beaches, pools, bars, minibuses, bars and bars.
We did have to check in to a new hotel in the shape of the Gansevoort a few blocks up but still on Collins as it was Art Basel week. This place was a slightly different class to the Raleigh, it was where all trashy colours came together and where cafe del mar was played in the lift - my hotel room was bigger than my house mind and I can't complain, it was still on the beach and had a roof top infinity pool.
One thing I will say about work was that it was really good to meet Lisa finally and great to meet Alex, it's funny when you work by email sometimes, for 2 weeks I thought 'She' was a 'He' - local phone purchase required next time i think.

Work and play in the USA Part10.
Pensacola goodbye you suck, any town that Sheryl Crow sings about should be avoided at all cost! Now waffle house (as seen in Due date the night before), we are never going to eat in you again, you may have 50 staff and 4 customers but you are more capable of giving me projectile diarrhea (incidently this means 'flowing through' in Greek) than the after effects of an 'eat off' at Taco Bell.
We drove to Jacksonville and headed to Sawgrass golf course (pretty good one apparently) for a steak and a meet up with one of Neil's childhood friends, a golfer perchance! It's always nice to meet your friends friends - if they don't have long term mates then give them a wide berth, they might well be Freaks or often be parasites, after something you've got or once had looking for an 'in'.
We had a nice night, a very good steak, 2 amazingly expensive bottles of wine and learnt what a 'Florida Fountain' was from the Waiter (don't ask). Next morning woke up with a red wine and rum hangover, and red teeth to match! We trickled around to the players lounge, coffee, eggs ben, a casting and a half of a Man City game ensued on the telly.
On the road to Miami we go, down the west coast of Florida, we stopped off at Ron Jon surf hell to experience the corporate soul-less hell hole of surfing, had a lovely spot of lunch served to us by Pink and then headed down to Boynson where Neil had the idea of running into a model (male) that he'd worked with several times.
Now we were lucky as it was dark when we got there and Ryan had just come back from a surf comp, he ran a proper surf shop with his brother and dad, his dad opened it in 1962 selling t-shirts and boards in an area his dad had let him have.

"Whata we gonna do car sales are slumping, if it wasn't for me turkey farm and thanks giving we'd all be proper fucked!" "Hold on.. I've got an idea that might just work.... free turkey with every test drive?"

If your ever in the area go see Nomad Surf, its really chilled out there, we hung out at the beach chatting to frisbie girls and his mates, it was just what we needed before Miami!

Introducing Kitty
May I take the opportunity to introduce one of the integral parts of the road trip, the car.
Kitty is the younger gay cousin of Kit, she's butch, she snarls, spits, has a drink problem and she bends the law at every turn.
At home on a dusky track or a swanky city blvd, she's a bit of a hoover... great for picking up bit's of fuzz - shame it's the Five Ooo though.
We've covered over 4000 miles in her, the stereo has gremlins in it and manages to choose any number of random bluetooth devices on a whim just to keep us on our toes, she has a few rattles for a new car, some would say she has a screw loose, it's always the crazy one's that you love eh!
There may be faults, but It's good to favour the good times to which there are many, we haven't had sat nav so it's made our journey alot more fun, we sometimes don't know where we're gonna go in the next hour let alone day, it's really spiced up our adventure.
She's great for taking sunset pictures out of the window most evenings too.
I thank you Kitty for keeping us company and I thank you Neil for not saying yes to the Jetta - the all American road tripwould have lacked in anything but an all American Roadhog.
